Laser Dentistry - Biolase Waterlase Dentistry Technology
Sydney Laser Dentistry provides progressive, world class dentistry
for all our patients in a caring, safe and happy environment. All
the treatments used by Sydney Laser Dentistry have been ratified by the FDA
in the USA and TGA in Australia.
Sydney Laser Dentistry uses a patented technology combining Erbium
Chromium YSGG
laser energy and a spray of water, a process called HydroPhotonics™, to
perform a wide range of dental procedures on teeth, gum and bone more
comfortably. After copious research and worldwide
training, we have chosen to utilise the technology of Biolase, a
NASDAQ listed company for the benefit of our existing and new patients.
About Sydney Laser Dentistry
Our intention is to provide progressive world-class, minimally
invasive dentistry for all our patients in a caring, safe and happy
environment.
Chosen Technologies:
At Sydney Laser Dentistry we have chosen to utilise the technology of
Biolase. This company is listed on the NASDAQ. All the treatments used
by Sydney Laser Dentistry have been ratified by the FDA and TGA in
Australia.
Our Use of Laser Technologies:
Treatments chosen to be performed by laser have been deemed to have an
advantage to the patient over traditional therapies, some of which we
believe are no longer the gold standard of care. We strongly believe
that lasers used in certain situations obtain more optimum results than
old fashioned treatments. We can not use lasers for every dental need
simply because they were not designed for that treatment. For example,
we cannot remove amalgams with the laser, we have to rely on the drill,
however, we can use the laser to provide analgesia so that the procedure
is less painful and there may not be a need for injections. After the
removal of the amalgam the tooth will be finished and prepared for a
better bonded restoration using the laser.
Fillings with Sydney Laser Dentistry
Most people associate dentistry with fillings. Fillings should be prepared
with long term health of the tooth in mind. To do this we must remove only
diseased tissue or decay leaving the surrounding good tooth structure intact and
substantially decontaminated. The finished tooth surface must also be amenable
to good bonding to a filling material.
Laser Smile tooth whitening
At Sydney Laser Dentistry, we use the Laser Smile tooth whitening for its
efficiency in bleaching your teeth safely and quickly. It should always be
remembered that whitening your teeth is an ongoing process as the staining
forces of our eating and drinking habits tend to cause the whitening to revert.
Dental Implants
At Sydney Laser Dentistry we believe that implants are the preferred option
to replace teeth that have been lost or cannot be restored with any great
certainty.
Orthodontics
As a form of minimally invasive dentistry orthodontics is practiced
at Sydney Laser Dentistry.
Smile Beautification
There are a number of reasons why you smile might not reach its potential. It
may be owing to damage caused by a myriad of causes. At Sydney Laser Dentistry
we understand the importance of your smile and we are always very excited by
“smile renovations”.
Periodontics (Gum Treatment)
The most common disease in the human adult population is Periodontal disease
also known as gum disease or pyorrhea.
The periodontium is the foundation of your teeth. Like the
foundations of a house, if this foundation is undermined, then the teeth
will move, collapse or simply become loose, infected and require
extraction. Periodontal health is paramount because if it is not
maintained nothing else that you do will be of any benefit.
Preventative Care and Oral Hygiene
Preventive dentistry focuses on preventing the dental treatment that
may be required as a result of the damaging effects of tooth decay and
gum disease. It involves a joint effort between patient and dentist. A
thorough examination (focusing on teeth and gums) is necessary. Often
x-rays are also necessary. These help us to see cavities between the
teeth, leaking fillings, calculus below the gum and receding bone
levels. We may need to do a saliva test and dietary analysis as part of
this examination.
